Puppetry

Whether for natural history, hunting trophies, or memorial works, taxidermy is meant for display. By design, it is delicate, static, and balanced. Taxidermy puppetry upends this framework by introducing motion and narrative.

Unlike traditional taxidermy, these puppets can- and must- be touched and manipulated. Durably constructed moveable rods, joints, strings, and hinges allow flexion without overly compromising anatomical accuracy. The viewer is invited to take up the puppets reigns and participate in the animal’s symbolic reanimation.
