Memorial

The preservation of animal remains dates back to antiquity, when ancient Egyptians embalmed their most cherished pets in the hope of being reunited in the afterlife. Today, pet memorials still serve as transitional objects for grieving, healing, and remembering. Being able to see and touch the body of a beloved animal companion can be a source of peace and power long after they have passed.

I offer full-body pet taxidermy (sleeping pose only) as well as preservation of fur sections or parts, such as tail or paw. Custom memorial projects based on your vision are always welcome. Note that rates for this service are higher than for traditional trophy work because of the greater required precision. Remains can be returned for burial or delivered to Heaven’s Pets at Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery for cremation (additional fee applies).
